About Us

Restoring hope and strengthening communities

About Bethel Outreach Community Services

Bethel Outreach Community Services (BOCS) is a nonprofit organization committed to helping individuals and families overcome addiction, hunger, health challenges, family hardship, and social isolation.

We believe that immediate assistance is important, but lasting transformation requires more than temporary relief. People also need knowledge, encouragement, healthy relationships, reliable resources, and opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Through compassionate programs and trusted community partnerships, we help people move from crisis to recovery, from hunger to nourishment, and from isolation to belonging.

Why Our Work Matters

Addiction, food insecurity, health challenges, and family hardship rarely occur in isolation.

Someone beginning a recovery journey may also be dealing with hunger, unemployment, housing instability, strained family relationships, or poor mental health. A family facing food insecurity may also struggle to access healthcare, transportation, childcare, and other essential services.

BOCS responds to these interconnected challenges through coordinated and person-centred support. We listen to individuals and families, recognize their strengths, and help them identify practical pathways towards stability and independence.

Our Values

1. Compassion

We respond to people’s needs with empathy, patience, and understanding.

2. Dignity

We treat every individual with respect, regardless of their circumstances or past experiences.

3. Equity

We work to remove barriers that prevent underserved individuals and families from accessing support.

4. Inclusion

We welcome people from different cultures, backgrounds, identities, abilities, and life experiences.

5. Collaboration

We believe stronger results are achieved when communities work together.

6. Accountability

We use resources responsibly and remain committed to transparency, learning, and measurable impact.

7. Empowerment

We help people recognize their strengths, make informed decisions, and take meaningful steps towards healthier lives.

8. Community Leadership

We involve community members in identifying needs and developing appropriate solutions.
